The team has recently made a major move in our quest to improve our performance by hiring Cas Van Dongen as our coach for a week of training in Cagliari, Sardinia.

Cas Van Dongen is last year’s winner of the Youth Foiling Gold Cup where he and his team -Dutch Sail- brought home 1st place in the final of the 69F Sailing Youth Foiling Gold Cup. His extensive knowledge and experience in this specific field make him an excellent choice for our team as we aim to improve our skills.

We held our ‘training camp’ in Cagliari where the sun was shining and the sea breeze filled in every day just after lunch with a solid 15kts average. It was a week of intense training sessions followed by debriefs consisting of scrutinizing video footage and lengthy discussions of theories behind racing the 69F.

"We are thrilled to have Cas as our coach for this training session," said skipper Rocco Falcone. "His knowledge and expertise will be instrumental in helping us to achieve our goals and take our team to the next level.”

As we look towards the first official regatta of the European season, we are training our minds and bodies into well-oiled machines in order to qualify for the Youth Foiling Gold Cup Final in Barcelona.
